Terms and Conditions

These terms govern bookings made with Smooth Cars, a licensed private hire operator. They were last updated on 14 September 2026.

1. Bookings

A booking is formed when we issue you a booking reference. Until then you have a quotation, not a contract. Quotations are held at the stated price for 30 minutes.

2. Fares

The fare shown at the time of booking is the fare payable, subject only to changes you request on the day: additional stops, additional waiting time, or a change of destination. Any such change is priced at the rates published on our fares page.

3. Cancellation

You may cancel without charge more than two hours before the booked pickup time. Within two hours, 50% of the fare is payable. If the vehicle attends and the passenger does not travel, the full fare is payable. If we cancel, no charge applies and any payment taken is refunded in full.

4. Waiting time

Ten minutes of waiting is included on local pickups. On airport arrivals, 45 minutes is included from the time the flight lands. Waiting beyond the included period is charged by the minute at the published rate.

5. Passengers and luggage

Each vehicle class states the maximum number of passengers and items of luggage it will carry. These are legal limits, not guidelines, and a driver may refuse to carry more.

6. Conduct

Smoking, including vaping, is not permitted in any vehicle. A soiling charge of 100.00 applies where a vehicle is taken off the road for cleaning.

7. Liability

We will make every effort to arrive at the booked time, but we are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, road closures or other events outside our control. Where you are travelling to a time-critical commitment, please book with sufficient margin.

8. Complaints

Complaints should be sent to us using the contact form on this site, quoting your booking reference. We will acknowledge within one working day. Unresolved complaints about a licensed private hire operator may be taken to the licensing authority.
